My career with South Sarpy School District No. 46 began with the 2004-05 school year following a 17-year career in private business. I wore many hats during that time including computer programmer, web designer, systems analyst, and manager. All of those positions and associated responsibilities prepared me well for my role as the Director of Technology for the school district.

My responsibilities as Director of Technology are many and varied and include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Planning and budgeting
• Project management
• Network management
• Training
• Help Desk/Technical Support
• Computer Technician
• Purchasing

While this wide variety in job responsibilities can be challenging at times, it does make my job interesting and fun. I really enjoy the daily interaction with staff and students and providing them with technology and assistance to hopefully make their daily experiences at school a little bit better.

I grew up in South Omaha where I graduated from Omaha Gross Catholic High School in 1979. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, with a specialization in management information systems, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha before beginning my IT career.
